MONTGOMERY, Ala. – For the third time this season, Spring Hill College starting pitcher Caroline Sagrera was named the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week this time taking the award for the week of April 21-27, 2014.

Sagrera (32-8) went 3-1 on the week with two shutouts versus the 6th-ranked William Carey Crusaders and the 13th-ranked Belhaven Blazers. She pitched 28 innings with 15 hits allowed, gave up just one earned run with 17 strikeouts and 8 walks. Sagrera currently leads the NAIA with 374 strikeouts in 276 innings pitched while holding a 0.76 ERA and opponents are hitting just .137 against her.

Spring Hill (36-11, 21-7 SSAC West) begins play in the 2014 SSAC Championship Tournament on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the SportsPlex in Gulf Shores.
