Freshman Corinne Missi was 3rd in the High Jump event this weekend

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's outdoor Track & Field team earned eight postseason awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as announced by the conference on Saturday following the 2014 SSAC Championships.

Freshman hurdler Jennifer Medlock of Garland, Texas, was named to the 2014 SSAC Conference Team in the 100-Meter Hurdles after recording a 3rd place finish in a time of 15.56.

Freshman Corinne Missi from Yaoundé, Cameroon, earned a spot on the All-Conference squad with a 1.57 meter effort in the High Jump and a 3rd place finish.

Five Badgers earned spot on the 2014 SSAC All-Academic Team through their outstanding performances on the track and in the classroom: Senior Anna DeWine of Cedarville, Ohio; senior Emily Dolan from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile; sophomore Katie Dolan of McGill-Toolen; sophomore Holly Gibbens of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and sophomore Lauren Rubin of Lake Bluff, Ala.

DeWine was also named the 2014 SHC representative on the Musco-Lighting Champions of Character Team.

Spring Hill will next run at the Seminole Twilight Invitational hosted by Florida State University in Tallahassee on Friday, May 9, 2014.
