GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's outdoor Track & Field team earned 14 postseason awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) following the SSAC Championships on Saturday.

Sophomore Jordan Travis of Poplarville, Miss., won the 800-Meter Run in 1:54.83 and earned a second All-Conference honor in the 1500-Meter Run with a 2nd place finish in a time of 4:06.89.

Sophomore Wesley Pietri from St. Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile won two All-Conference awards for his 3rd place 12.34-meter Triple Jump effort and his 3rd place 1.8-meter High Jump performance.

Sophomore Justin Rooks from Murphy High School in Mobile placed 3rd in the Shot Put for an All-Conference nod at 12.82 meters.

Freshman Travis Florence of Byram, Miss., hurled the Hammer 29.07 meters for a 3rd place mark while earning an All-Conference award and freshman Terence Hinton of Daphne, Ala., ran the 400-Meters Hurdles in a personal-best time of 58.41 seconds for another Badger 3rd place finish and All-Conference worthy performance.

Six Badgers earned a spot on the 2014 SSAC All-Academic Team. Pietri and Travis both made the grade as did junior Conner Kirkikis of Kenner, La., sophomore Patrick Lameka of Chicago, Ill., sophomore Harrison McNab from New Orleans, La., and sophomore Robert Treuting of Alexandria, La.

Rooks was also named the Spring Hill representative on the 2014 Musco Lighting-SSAC Champions of Character Team.

Spring Hill will next run at the Seminole Twilight Invitational hosted by Florida State University in Tallahassee on Friday, May 9, 2014.
