Men's Soccer - Sat, Aug. 25, 2007
The Spring Hill College men's soccer team took a 4-2 home victory away from the Pensacola Soccer Club in a scrimmage match on Friday night. "I'm pleased with our effort tonight," remarked head coach Adam Pearce following the game, "but we still have improving to do. We're just a young squad. Most of the night we had seven true freshmen out there."
Not unexpectedly for this time of the year, the defense appeared to be ahead of the offense as most of the Badgers' goals came off of conversions from their opponents' offensive mistakes.
On defense, goalkeeper Cory Bronenkamp, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., played with impressive quickness and showed the good anticipatory skills needed to mind the net.
The Badgers open their 2007 regular season at home on Saturday, September 1 at 3 p.m. as they take on the No. 7 ranked Auburn-Montgomery Senators.
