Head Coach Adam Pearce and the Spring Hill College Athletics Department announced the signing of Kayla McCrory of Fairhope, Ala., to the Lady Badgers soccer team on Friday morning. A goalkeeper from Fairhope High School, McCrory posted 15 shutouts and registered 122 saves in 2007.
Pearce stated, "I am very excited about Kayla coming into camp this fall. Kayla has a real passion for the position, although she isn't your typical goalkeeper. She always plays much bigger than her boots! She is athletic, vocal and authoritative -- qualities you would want in any goalkeeper. I am very pleased to get the opportunity to work with Kayla and to keep the new tradition of keeping homegrown talent at home in Mobile."
McCrory served as the keeper for back-to-back Baldwin County Championships in 2006 and 2007 posting a 19-1-0 record. During her senior season, she appeared on the Mobile Press-Register All-Metro Second Team and was Honorable Mention All State. McCrory was also a member of the Pensacola Futbol Club (Under 18) in the Florida Youth Soccer Association's Division I Premier League.
