CLINTON, Miss. -- The Spring Hill women's cross-country team finished 7th (160) at the NAIA Region XIII championships.
Junior Amy Lyon was the first Lady Badger to cross the finish line in 12th place overall with a time of 20:45. Senior captain Emily Shaffer finished in 22:12 (29th). They were followed by Katie Goodwin in 22:40 (33rd), Gussie Altman in 23:45 (41st) and Candace Wilson in 24:30 (50th).
"The women have worked so hard to improve this season," said head coach Chris Hughes. "We didn't get the results we wanted at the regional meet, but we placed well within our conference and held that place again this week. The ladies ran strong at the top, and everyone put in a good effort."
Berry College won the Region XIII championships with a score of 37, followed by Lee University (64) and Reinhardt College (88). The top GCAC team was Xavier, who finished 4th overall with a score of 99.
