Head Coach Adam Pearce and the Spring Hill College Athletics Department announced the signing of defenseman Keith Tardibuono of Baker High School in Mobile to the Badgers men's soccer team on Friday morning. Tardibuono also played for the Mobile Soccer Club for eight years where he was a member of two State Championship squads and a 2007 State Cup Finalist team.
Pearce commented, "Keith is a very hard-working, no-nonsense, hard-nosed footballer. He will bring an edge to the backline that will allow us to play a bit tighter and with a little more grit. Keith has the right attitude and approach to the work-rate required of college soccer. His desire and no-quit attitude will be a positive attribute that allows him to develop very quickly into one of the top defenders in the conference."
Tardibuono was selected as Baker High School's Most Valuable player in 2007 and appeared on the Mobile Press-Register's All-Metro Soccer Second Team. Also in 2007, he was chosen to the Mobile and Baldwin County all Star Soccer Team.
"When I visited Spring Hill, I felt very comfortable with the coaches and the other players on the team," remarked Tardibuono when asked about his decision. "I like a tenacious style of defense and fight to the end of every game. Coach Pearce teaches that type of play and I can definitely work with that attitude."
Off the soccer pitch, Tardibuono was a member of the Baker HS Student Government and active in the Art Club. He plans to major in Business.
