Women's Cross Country - Sat, Oct. 21, 2006

CLINTON, Miss. -- Spring Hill women's cross-country team finished 2nd (57) out of five teams at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.

Junior co-captain Amy Lyon was once again the top finisher for the Lady Badgers as she finished the 5k run in 21:35.74 and placed 4th overall.  Senior captain Emily Shaffer placed 10th (22:37.06), immediately followed by Katie Goodwin in 11th place (22:42.90). 

In 14th place was Gussie Altman (24:06.87), followed by Shannon Ward in 18th (24:37.41), Stephanie Hoffman in 20th (24:47.75), Sarah Dickson in 21st (25:28.05), Anne Couvillion in 22nd (25:42.96), Tiffani Shuman in 23rd (25:48.44), Candace Wilson in 26th (26:16.70), Kayte Henderson in 33rd (28:25.98) and Jessica Goins in 34th (29:39.01).

Xavier University took the title with 26 points, followed by Spring Hill, Loyola-New Orleans (65), Belhaven (86) and Tougaloo (135).

The Lady Badgers will compete in the NAIA Region XIII Championships at the Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss., on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 8 a. m.
