The Spring Hill College women's soccer team released its schedule for the 2008 season
on Monday. The slate opens at home on August 21 with a non-conference match on Library Field versus Texas College and also features road swings to Memphis, Tenn., and Thomasville, Ga.
The Lady Badgers travel to Memphis on August 29-31 for matches with Crichton College (Tenn.) and Lyon College (Ark.). On September 19-21, the team will participate in the Thomas University Invitational in Thomasville where they will face the host squad on Friday followed with a match versus NCAA Division II foe Flagler College on Sunday.
Coach Adam Pearce's team begins Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play at William Carey on September 30 and begins the conference home schedule on October 3 with cross-town rival Mobile. The regular season closes on November 9 with a road match against LSU-Shreveport. In 2007, the Pilots of LSU-S ended the Lady Badgers' school-record 10-win season in a shoot-out decision at the GCAC Tournament in Hattiesburg, Miss.
On September 5-7, the Second Annual Spring Hill College Invitational will welcome Montgomery's Faulkner University and Central Baptist College from Conway, Ark., to the SHC campus. Other home highlights are visits by non-conference foes Shorter College (Ga.) on October 5 and Tennessee's Trevecca Nazarene University on October 11 as well as the renewal of annual rivalry with West Florida on November 2.
