The Spring Hill College men's and women's soccer teams will open the 2008 soccer season on Thursday evening with a home doubleheader versus the Texas College Steers. The women will kick off the year beginning at 5 p.m. on Library Field followed by the men with a scheduled 7 p.m. start time.
Both Spring Hill squads will feature returning All-Conference forwards. Senior Sean Simpson from Ballwin, Mo., led the Badgers in scoring in 2007 with six goals and 15 total points. He also accounted for all three game-winning goals recorded by the Badgers. For the Lady Badgers, junior Kasey Pruett of Flower Mound, Texas, tallied 16 goals and 38 points, including five game-winning goals.
The Spring Hill men look to avenge last season's 3-2 overtime loss at Tyler, Texas, while the Lady Badgers took home a 2-0 win. In 2007, the Lady Badgers compiled a school record 10-6-3 mark. The Badgers finished the year with a 3-13-2 mark.
