Women's Soccer - Fri, Aug. 29, 2008
The Spring Hill College women's soccer team (2-0) picked up its first shut-out of the 2008 season with a 5-0 drubbing of Crichton College in Memphis on Friday evening.  Junior forward Kasey Pruett of Flower Mound, Texas, scored four of the Lady Badgers' goals in the contest while senior midfielder Maureen Sargent of Town & Country, Mo., added three assists.

The opening goal of the contest came off the foot of freshman forward Abby Galen of St. Louis, Mo., in the 15th minute off a nifty right to left passing combination from Sargent and senior midfielder Sarah Engels of St. Louis.

Pruett then took over for the Badgers scoring goals in the 31st, 35th, 69th, and 85th minutes.

"We came out and played with good energy tonight," commented Head Coach Adam Pearce.  "We had especially good communication in this match.  On defense, we didn't allow Crichton chances to develop their offense and then we ran our game plan and worked our system when we were attacking."

Freshmen goalies Kayla McCrory from Fairhope and Kyle Capstick of Memphis split the shutout.  The Lady Badgers will remain in Memphis this weekend for a match with Lyon College (Ark.) on Sunday at 3 p.m.
