The Spring Hill College women's soccer team (3-1) lost its first match of the season to Faulkner University (1-0) on Friday afternoon by the score of 4-2. SHC found itself down 2-0 early as Faulkner's All-American forward Nicole Jagt from Ontario scored in the 6th minute and the 20th minute of the contest.
The Lady Badgers were able to knot the score with goals by freshman midfielder Elaine Femmer of St. Louis in the 37th minute and junior forward Kasey Pruett of Flower Mound, Texas, in the 58th minute.
Faulkner retook the advantage with a goal by Samantha Ruddick of Ontario in the 64th minute and then sealed the victory in the 78th minute as Jagt complete her hat trick with a third goal. Ruddick had also picked up both assists on Jagt's earlier goals.
SHC was out-shot 18 to 13 by the Lady Eagles from Montgomery, but the Lady Badgers had four cornerkicks to Faulkner's one.
Kyle Capstick of Memphis, Tenn., picked up the loss in goal with seven saves while Lisa Gallea, also from Ontario, had nine saves and took home the victory.
