The Spring Hill College men's soccer team (2-2-1) finished the 2nd Annual Spring Hill Invitational with a 4-1 victory over the visiting Central Baptist College Mustangs on Sunday evening.
Freshman forward Gable Fortune of St. Louis, Mo., came off the bench in the first half and opened the scoring in the 18th minute and senior forward Sean Simpson of Ballwin, Mo., would take the honors in the 28th and 54th minutes with assists from freshman John Tanner of Gulf Shores and Zach Townsend of Middleburg, Fla.
Sophomore forward Patrick Hall from Mobile's McGill-Toolen added a penalty kick goal in the 75th minute.
The visitors from Conway, Ark., avoided the shutout with a penalty kick goal of their own in the 78th minute off the foot of Michilli Moses.
Freshman William Gafford of Murphy High won his second consecutive game in goal for the Badgers facing nine shots and making six saves. Chance Murphy took the loss for the Mustangs who gave up 15 shots to the Badgers. SHC also took six corner kicks to CBC's three.
The Badgers will next travel to Birmingham to play Oglethorpe University on Friday and Birmingham-Southern on Sunday.
