The Spring Hill college men's golf team opened the 2008-'09 season with a seventh place finish at the 2008 Alabama State Fall Golf Classic held at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.

After Monday's first round play, the Badgers found themselves tied for fourth place.  They slipped to seventh position in the second round, however, when their putts refused to drop despite solidly hitting the ball.  The JV team also played well in their first outing as an SHC unit.  In fact, sophomore Pat Whalen of Rockville, Md., and freshman Wyatt Esteves fired two-day scores of 151 and 156 respectively rivaling the varsity scores.

The Badgers now take a week off before traveling to Birmingham on September 22-23 to play in the Southern Showdown at Oxmoor Valley Golf Club.
