The Spring Hill College women's soccer team tied a school-record with its 10th win of the season by taking a 2-0 decision over visiting LSU-Shreveport on Saturday afternoon.
The match was scoreless at the intermission, but SHC's freshman forward Abby Galen of St. Louis, Mo., broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute via a pass from senior midfielder Meaux Sargent of Town & Country, Mo.
Galen also added the second goal of the contest in the 83rd minute after junior forward Kasey Pruett of Flower Mound, Texas, threaded a pass to her between two defenders in front of the goal.
Freshman keeper Kayla McCrory of Fairhope added her fifth shutout of the year, but her stalwart defensive front actually required her to make just one save versus 10 shots. Amber Salvucci made three saves versus nine shots in the loss.
The Lady Badgers (10-3, 2-2) will host conference foe Belhaven College (7-4-1, 0-2-1) on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. A victory would surpass the 10-win season of the program's 2007-'08 team.
