The Spring Hill College Lady Badgers traveled the short distance to the University of Mobile on Wednesday night and neither team could pull out a win as the match ended in a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of play.
The Rams drew first blood in the 20th minute with a goal by Terri McCreadie from the top of the keeper's box following a quick move past a pair of Spring Hill defenders.
Both teams battled for control of the game's momentum throughout the first half and in the early stages of the second half, but they each failed to control the match for more than five or six minutes at a stretch.
Spring Hill's freshman forward Abby Galen of St. Louis, Mo., tied the match in the 53rd minute with an empty net goal when UM's Anna Maddox came out to challenge a shot and was caught out of position.
The match a physical affair as the team's fought tooth and nail over the remaining time and throughout both overtimes. In the end, Spring Hill would commit 17 fouls and Mobile would get whistled for 25 fouls on the night.
Spring Hill freshman keeper Kayla McCrory from Fairhope recorded four saves against 12 shots while Maddox made two saves against six shots.
The Lady Badgers (10-4-1, 2-3-1) will host No. 16 William Carey University (11-2-1, 6-0) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
