The Spring Hill College men's soccer team lost a 2-0 decision to NCAA Division II and 18th ranked University of West Florida at Library Field on Sunday evening.
The match was a scoreless tie throughout the first half as both teams played brilliant defense. West Florida's Jason Ream, however, was able to break the deadlock in the 52nd minute and then added a second goal in the 61st minute.
Spring Hill's sophomore goalkeeper Dan Criscione of Maplewood, Mo., made seven saves against 28 shots. UWF split the shutout between the starting keeper David McNally who made two saves against three shots and the second-half starter Wade Dixon, who made one save against two shots.
UWF took 11 corner kicks and Spring Hill took just two corners, both in the second half.
The Badgers (4-10-3) will travel to Hattiesburg, Miss, on Tuesday to play in the GCAC Tournament semifinals versus No. 14 William Carey University (11-3-1) at 7 p.m.
