The Spring Hill College women's soccer team ended the 2008 regular season with a 1-1 double-overtime tie at conference foe LSU-Shreveport on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman forward Alison Akers of Houston, Texas, put the Badgers on top just three minutes into the second half with a goal assisted by senior midfielder Sarah Engels of St. Louis, Mo. The Pilots, however, answered with a goal by sophomore forward Calandre Singh in the 63rd minute.
Sophomore Jessica Makowski of Crestview, Fla., made her first career start in goal for Spring Hill and made three saves against 13 shots. Freshman Shay Wells of Hammond, La., made five saves versus 14 shots for the Pilots.
As a result of Sunday's tie contest, the Lady Badgers (10-6-2, 2-4-2) will host LSU-Shreveport (7-7-1, 2-5-1) on Tuesday at 2 p.m. on Library Field in the opening round of the GCAC Tournament.
