Senior men's soccer forward Sean Simpson of Spring Hill College was named a 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete. This marks Simpson's second consecutive season receiving the award.
Simpson, an Accounting major from Ballwin, Mo., scored 14 goals for the Badgers with three assists for a total of 31 points this past season. He also appeared on the All-GCAC team as a midfielder in each of the past two seasons.
This season over 100 schools were represented on the 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes list with 264 student-athletes receiving the prestigious honor. In order to be a recipient of the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, a student-athlete must be a junior or above in academic standing and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.
