Game at a glance
The Spring Hill College baseball team broke out of a five-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of conference foe Tougaloo College by the scores of 9-1 and 17-1 on Friday afternoon.
In the first game, a make-up of an earlier rainout, centerfielder Ryan Hall tied a school record with seven RBI off three hits and left fielder Sam Stewart collected three hits including a solo homerun. Sophomore Nick Clapper (3-3) pitched his third complete game of the year with eight strikeouts and one unearned run.
The second game lasted just five innings as SHC starter Taylor Chadick (3-3) collected his second complete game allowing just one unearned run off two hits and nine strikeouts. Third baseman Brad Holstein and right fielder Blake Nelson both had three hits in the game.
Spring Hill College (8-20, 4-14 GCAC) finishes up this four-game stand at Tougaloo (4-21-1, 0-18 GCAC) with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
