BADGERS UPSET NO. 2 LSU-S, 100-80

Guard Jeremy Price scored a Badger season-high 34 points as Spring Hill College finished a four-game road swing with an upset of the No. 2 ranked LSU-Shreveport Pilots 100-80 on Saturday evening.  Price, a native of Dallas, Texas, surpassed senior Noah Woolridge’s 32-point performance of Thursday when the Badgers upset No. 13 Xavier-New Orleans.

The Badgers outscored the Pilots 21-6 during an early seven-minute stretch of the second half and built an 85-66 lead that withstood several late charges by LSU-S.  Spring Hill College turned in its best free throw performance of the season making an amazing 31 of 33 (94%) attempts from the charity stripe.

Along with Price’s 34 points, Woolridge poured in 26 points and led all rebounders with 10 boards.  Marcus Coleman added 17 points with Owen McNally finding the range on 10 more Badger points.  The Badgers continued to prove why they are the NAIA’s hottest 3-point shooting team making 13 of 26 (46%) attempts from beyond the arc.  Overall, they converted on 56% (28-50) of their shots from the field and out-rebounded LSU-S 37 to 36 on the glass.

For LSU-S (25-2, 14-2 GCAC), Josh Porter led the way with 25 points and Jamon Morris added 16 while Travis Cash and J’Quincy Jones contributed 11 points apiece.  Morris and Cash each had nine rebounds for the Pilots.

The Spring Hill College (17-10, 9-7 GCAC) men host the University of Mobile on Thursday in a game scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
