Price Joins 1,000 Point Club
Spring Hill College junior guard Jeremy Price scored the 1,000th point of his career with two free throws versus Southern University-New Orleans (SUNO) on Saturday, March 1, joining his two Badger teammates senior forwards Cash Covington and Noah Woolridge in passing the mark this season. Price, a native of Dallas, Texas, is now the 30th player in Spring Hill College history to join the 1,000 Point Club.
For his career on The Hill, Price has scored 1,004 points while averaging 12.4 points per game and shooting over 47% (313-658) from the field. The Badgers have become known for their 3-point accuracy over the past several seasons and Price is no exception to that trend. He has knocked down 44% (100-229) of his shots from behind the 3-point line to this point in his college tenure.
“Jeremy is just a winner,” says Spring Hill College Head Coach Robert Thompson. “He was a major factor why we reached the National Tournament in his freshman year (2005-‘06). He’s hard-worker and it’s a real thrill to see him reach this milestone so early in his playing career.”
When asked about three of his players reaching 1,000 career points scored in the same season, Thompson laughs and says, “I’m going to have to buy some more balls! These guys keep making me give them away.” Spring Hill College has never before had three players achieve 1,000 career points in the same season. Woolridge now stands at 18th on the SHC scoring list with 1,316 points and Covington is 23rd with 1,212 points.
