The Spring Hill College Lady Badgers (4-16, 3-7 GCAC) dropped a 78-71 decision to the visiting Belhaven College Lady Blazers (10-10, 5-5) on Saturday.  Spring Hill held a 61-57 lead with 7:31 remaining on the clock, but back-to-back 3-point shots by Belhaven’s Jaelyn Stringer at the five-minute mark put the Lady Blazers up 66-65.  Belhaven would never look back as they quickly built the lead out to 75-69 at the free throw line.

Spring Hill’s Sharidan Hollis led all scorers with 24 points while Angél Parker had 17, Rashonda Belton had 12 and Keisha Forbes added 11.  Parker also pulled in nine Badger rebounds.

SHC shot 43% (20-47) from the field as a team, but lost the turnovers battle 25 to 14 as Belhaven forced 12 steals from the Lady Badgers.  Rebounds were even at 40 for both squads.

Belhaven was led by Lurena Robinson with 23 points, followed by Stringer with 21 and Samantha Kirkwood with 14 points.  Stringer recorded a double-double taking in 11 rebounds.  The Lady Blazers were 40% from the field (30-75).

The Lady Badgers host Tougaloo College on Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
