The Spring Hill College Lady Badgers (5-17, 4-8 GCAC) could not keep up with the relentless defensive pressure of the visiting Lady Blue Devils and fell to Dillard University 58-55 on Saturday evening.

The Lady Badgers held a 29-22 lead at the intermission and quickly built an 11-point advantage at 33-22 just one minute into the second half.  Two minutes later, however, four consecutive turnovers by Spring Hill turned that lead into a 35-35 deadlock.  The inside height of Dillard then gained the advantage as Dillard went on a 14-6 run over the next six minutes from which Spring Hill was never able to recover.

Poor shooting also hurt the Lady Badgers chances as they made just three of 20 (15%) 3-point shots.  Overall, Spring Hill shot 42% (22-52) with junior forward Keisha Forbes leading the way with 20 points.  Guard Sharidan Hollis added 12 points and guard Rashonda Belton pulled in seven rebounds.

The Lady Badgers were out rebounded 40 to 33 and the turnovers were even at 24 apiece. 

For the Lady Blue Devils (9-13, 4-8), center Sandra Nweke scored 23 points with 13 rebounds and guard Alrieon Bevins added 17 points.  As a team, Dillard was 24 of 63 (38%) from the field.

The Lady Badgers travel to William Carey University on Thursday for a conference match up beginning at 5:30 p.m.
