Badgers finish 2nd at the GCAC Championships
CLINTON, Miss. -- Spring Hill men's cross-country team finished 2nd (38)
at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships Saturday, just one point
behind Xavier University.
It came down to the wire, as the sophomore Patrick Aucoin was in toe with
Loyola-New Orleans' Matt Cagigal and Richard Bouckaert, but both runners
crossed the finish line before Aucoin. Aucoin finished in 3rd place
overall with a 8k time of 28:10.61. Senior Randy Giveans finished in
6th with a time of 29:11.61.
Sophomore Ben Lauber finished in 8th (29:45.95), followed by Brad Bregan
in 10th place (30:06.10), Jimmy Newman in 11th (30:07.90), Ross Parrish in
14th (30:20.92), Mark Kirkikis in 15th (30:59.45), Alex Coppejans in 18th
(32:34.30), Jeffrey Jules finished 24th (35:54.10) and Nielson Lea finished
27th (41:13.94).
Xavier and Spring Hill were followed by Loyola-New Orleans (62), Belhaven
(97) and Tougaloo (138).
The Badgers will compete in the NAIA Region XIII Championships on
Saturday, Nov. 4 at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss.
