SHC finishes 3rd in NAIA Regionals.
CLINTON, Miss. -- The Spring Hill men's cross-country team finished the NAIA Region XIII championships in 3rd (103) behind Berry College (23) and Shorter College (61).
Sophomore Patrick Aucoin was the first Badger to cross the finish line in 27:40 (12th). Senior captain Randy Giveans finished in 28:57 (21st). They were followed by Ross Parrish in 29:48 (26th), Brad Bergan in 29:51 (27th) and Jimmy Newman in 30:38 (34th).
"I'm very happy with our performance," said head coach Chris Hughes. "Two weeks ago we missed the conference championship by one point to Xavier, and one year ago we missed regional runner-up by one point to Reinhardt. The men were determined not to let that happen again. I could see it in their eyes as the race progressed. They all reached deep to beat out both Xavier and Reinhardt."
Reinhardt College finished 4th (107), while Xavier came in 5th (110).
