Covington Added to Coaching Staff
Spring Hill College announced the addition the Griggs Covington as men’s basketball assistant coach. Covington will also serve as head coach for the Badgers men’s and women’s cross country teams. He joins the Spring Hill staff from the University of Arkansas where he recently completed his B.Ed.
A native of Eureka Springs, Ark., Covington played basketball for the Badgers during the 2004-05 season after completing a two-year career at Grayson County (Ark.) Junior College. During his prep career, he was twice selected All State and was voted All Conference three times at Eureka Springs High School. In his senior year, he was a McDonald’s All American nominee in 2002. Covington also ran track and cross country at ESHS as an All Conference performer. “It’s nice to return to Spring Hill,” Covington commented, “I look forward to working with Coach (Robert) Thompson this year and working with the dedicated student-athletes that make up our cross country squads.”
