The Spring Hill College men’s golf team wrapped up its 2008 season with a fourth place finish at the NAIA Region XIII Tournament held at Meadowlinks Golf Course in Ft. Gaines, Ga. The Badgers duffers were amazingly consistent in their three-day totals scoring 301, 301 and 300 for a combined 902 (+38).
Leading the Badgers, Patrick Jenkins, a senior from Chandler, Ariz., shot a total of 221 (69, 75, 77, +5) to finish in 11th place individually. Other scores saw senior David Lysaught of Denver, Colo., finish 15th with a nine-over-par 225 (79, 72, 74) and freshman Javier Portal of Miami, Fla., scored 228 (79, 74, 75, +12) for a 22nd place finish. Sophomore Will Loweth from Houston, Texas, closed with a 229 score (76, 76, 77, +13) for 26th position and junior Dan Thouvenot of St. Louis, Mo., placed 31st with a 234 score (77, 85, 72, +18).
