Spring Hill College (SHC) men's golf senior Wesley Hunter shot a 3-under par 141 over two rounds at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in St. Louis, Mo., on July 17-18 to qualify for the 117^th U.S. Amateur Championship at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., on August 14-10, 2017.
 
"We are very proud that Wesley has achieved this goal that he has worked so hard for," said SHC head coach Steve Hodges. "He's done a great job so far and we know he's going to keep it going in California."
 
Hunter, who prepped at St. Luke's Episcopal School in Mobile, sat out the 2016-17 with a red shirt, but shot a 73.19 average with four individual championships during his sophomore and junior seasons with the Badgers in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
