A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Kreider played college tennis at the University of Buffalo where he compiled an individual record of 46-4 and earned a national ranking in doubles play. Named the team's MVP as a freshman, he played the No. 1 singles position as a sophomore.
He transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where he earned his Bachelors degree in Political Science in 1994.
Kreider earned his certification from the United States Professional Tennis Association in 1991. At the time, he was one of the youngest professionals to receive the association's highest P1 status.
Currently the Tennis Director at Mirror Lake Tennis Club in Mobile, Kreider has coached all levels of players on the junior circuit with many earning collegiate scholarships. In 2000, he led Cottage Hill Christian School to an Alabama State Championship in the program's inaugural season.
