UAH Shuts Down Badgers, 4-0
Game at a glance
Sep 23, 2007 04:00 PM
Versus: Univ. of Alabama at Huntsville
L 0-4
The University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers defeated Spring Hill College in men’s soccer on Sunday by a score of 4-0. For NAIA member Spring Hill, this match marks their second loss in two days to an NCAA Division II opponent following Saturday’s 6-1 loss to the University of Montevallo.
The Chargers led 2-0 at the half, but the Badgers from Mobile appeared to be gaining some offensive momentum going into the intermission. UAH, however, adjusted at the half and clamped down on the Spring Hill offense again in the second period. “They simply were able to organize quicker than we were,” said Badgers Head Coach Adam Pearce, “We also suffered from some communication problems on defense.”
Spring Hill (2-4-1) next plays the Barons from Brewton-Parker College (Ga.) in a men’s and women’s doubleheader at home on Tuesday beginning with the women’s match at 3 p.m. and followed by the men at 5 p.m.
