Thomas University Nips Lady Badgers, 2-1
Game at a glance
Sep 15, 2007 02:00 PM
Versus: Thomas University
L 1-2
Both Spring Hill’s men’s and women’s soccer teams absorbed losses on the road in Thomasville, Ga., on Saturday. The Lady Badgers (2-3-0) lost to Thomas University, 2-1, while the men (1-2-1) dropped a 3-0 decision to Reinhardt College.
The Spring Hill College women’s soccer team saw Thomas University (Ga.) take a 2-1 decision off two goalkeeping breakdowns by senior goalie Shannon Netherby of Moramar, N.J. Spring Hill Head Coach Adam Pearce said following the game, “Shannon’s a good goalie, but she just had a bad game and a couple of balls got by her.”
On offense, senior team captain Jennifer Huber of St. Louis, Mo., accounted for the lone Badger goal of the day with a beautiful shot over the Thomas goalie and into the upper back corner of the net. “The defense was still trying to organize,” said Pearce, “and Jennifer took advantage of the situation.”
Spring Hill’s wraps up this road trip when the women play Warner Southern College on Sunday at 11 a.m. followed by the men taking on Thomas University at 4:30 p.m.
