Versus: Crichton College

The Spring Hill College women’s soccer team crushed Crichton College (Tenn.) in Jackson, Miss., on Sunday afternoon turning in a dominating performance with an 8-0 win.
In the women’s game, freshman Kelli Duncan of Clinton, Miss., scored the first two goals and senior Laura Pawlik from St. Louis, Mo., also scored twice. Senior Jennifer Huber, sophomore Kristin Lushington, freshman Jessica Makowski and senior Jenny Faust each scored goals while junior Sarah Engels added 3 assists, giving her team-leading 11 assists on the year.
Goalkeeper senior Shannon Netherby of Moramar, N.J., picked up her fifth shutout on the year as the Lady Badgers out shot the Comets 30-1 and took six corner kicks to Crichton’s one.
Head Coach Adam Pearce said, “We had a solid weekend with two shut outs and that’s a credit to our athletes who have made the commitment to keeping focused and steering a steady course.”
The Lady Badgers have now won three consecutive matches, marking the longest win streak of the year.
The Spring Hill women (7-4, 2-0) next play at home on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. versus William Carey (10-0, 2-0) in a showdown between the conference leaders.
