The Spring Hill College softball team suffered its first loss of the 2008 campaign with a 5-0 setback at the hands of the Lee University (Tenn.) Lady Flames at the Faulkner University Invitational in Montgomery.

Senior starter Lauren Herrera (1-1) took the loss and pitched only two innings with three earned runs before being replaced by freshman Samantha Brooks.

The No. 11 ranked Lady Flames of Lee (5-0) collected eight hits in the contest while the Lady Badgers were able to find just two hits from the bats of Jessica Walters and Becky Todd.

The Lady Badgers (2-1) next play Faulkner University to finish the tournament on Saturday afternoon before traveling to Jackson, Miss, on Saturday, March 1, to open GCAC play with a doubleheader at Belhaven College beginning at 1 p.m.
