A native of Ursa, Ill., Brian Gronewald graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in the spring of 2007. During his undergraduate education, he had the opportunity to complete an internship with the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL during the summer of 2006. Following his undergraduate education, Brian attended Auburn University where he earned his Master of Education degree in Biomechanics during the spring of 2009. While at Auburn, Brian completed a graduate assistantship with the Auburn athletic department overseeing the medical needs of their softball team. He has had stints with the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine in New Orleans, La., working as a physician extender and in the Kansas City Royals minor league system as a Rookie Ball athletic trainer in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
