Game at a glance
The Spring Hill College women’s tennis team (6-4, 2-3 GCAC) could not keep pace with No. 24 Xavier University-New Orleans (11-5, 7-0 GCAC) and fell by the final score 5-0.
The Lady Badgers’ No. 1 team of Catherine Thames and Allison Symulevich lost to the Xavier pair of Dominique Bell and Anastesia Opata with an 8-1 decision. Abbey Angelle and Paige Malone fell to Yuliem Dominguez and Colleen McArthur 9-7 in the No. 2 match while their SHC teammates Lynne Fritscher and Michelle Brochu lost 8-0 on No. 3 to Alexandra Broussard and Melissa DeLoach.
In singles play, courts 3-6 did not finish play as Thames and Symulevich lost to Bell and Opata on courts Nos. 1 and 2.
The Spring Hill men and women will next host Tougaloo College at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center on Saturday, April 5 at 2 p.m.
