Game at a glance
In the second round of the Spring Hill College Classic, the host Spring Hill College Lady Badgers swept a three-game victory from Dillard University by the scores of 30-21, 30-23, 30-25. Spring Hill over came the strong power game of the Blue Devils with quickness and hustle.
In the first game, the Lady Badgers (2-0) used a six-point run to put a 12-4 distance between themselves and the visitors. They then were able to slowly build upon that lead eventually stretching it to an 11-point lead at 24-13.
The Lady Blue Devils, however, were not intimidated by the result of the first game and jumped out to a 6-2 lead before the Lady Badgers mounted a nine-point run that built an 11-6 Spring Hill advantage. Dillard (0-2) would fight back several time late in the game, but could get no closer than three points to Lady Badgers at any time.
During the third and final game both teams showed determination as the game was tied 15-15 before Spring Hill squeezed out a little breathing room with a five-point run. From that point on the two teams would trade points with neither team mounting more than a three-point rally.
Spring Hill now plays Martin Methodist in final game of the Spring Hill Classic at 3 p.m. Earlier in the day, Martin Methodist took a 3-1 decision from Millsaps College.
