Versus: Pensacola Junior College

The Spring Hill College Lady Badgers volleyball team took a 3-1 exhibition game victory from Pensacola Junior College on Saturday afternoon. The Badgers won with game scores of 30-16, 32-34, 30-18 and 30-19.
Spring Hill took control of the first game with a five-point run that stretched their lead to 14-6 and later went on a six-point run that built a commanding 26-10 advantage.
The second game of the match was a close fought affair that saw PJC take a 20-16 lead before Spring Hill fought back to take a 26-24 edge. The Pirates from Pensacola, however, maintained their composure and drove the game into the 30s where the two teams tied four times before PJC found victory.
Game Three was dominated by Spring Hill’s service game as the Lady Badgers collected eight aces, including three consecutive single shot points by senior Kristen Phillips of St. Louis, Mo. The fourth and final game began with a 7-0 jump out of the gate by Spring Hill and a six-point run by the Badgers to close out the match
Spring Hill (3-9, 1-2) will host Dillard University in a conference match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
