The Spring Hill College Lady Badgers volleyball team lost a 3-0 home decision to the University of West Florida (17-2) on Thursday night.  The Argonauts swept the games by scores of 30-23, 30-23 and 30-24.

Game One was controlled by West Florida following a 4-0 run to open the match, but the second game was a nip-and-tuck affair as the Lady Badgers edged out to 5-2 advantage only to see UWF claw back into the lead at 8-7.  The remainder of the game saw five lead changes and 10 ties as both teams battled for each point.  The Argos took the lead at 21-20 and used a five point run to 27-21 to finally wrest the game away from Spring Hill.

The final game of the match saw UWF jump out 5-0 and maintain a large advantage throughout the game until the Lady Badgers used a six-point run to close the gap to 26-23. 

Senior co-captain Kristen Phillips of St. Louis led Spring Hill with 11 kills and 12 defensive digs while her fellow senior co-captain Lindsey Schmidt of Chicago, Ill., handed out 25 assists.  Chelsea Wilhoite of Jacksonville, Fla., had 14 kills and 13 digs for UWF and Madeline Gonzalez of Puerto Rico had 38 assists.

Spring Hill (3-9) will host Pensacola Junior College in an exhibition match on Saturday at 2 p.m.
