The University of Mobile Lady Rams (29-4, 8-0) snapped the Spring Hill College volleyball team’s seven-game winning streak with a 3-0 victory over the Lady Badgers (16-14, 4-4) on Tuesday night on the UM campus.  Spring Hill fell by the scores 30-21, 30-22 and 30-20.

Mobile controlled the tempo of the match for much of the contest, using their height and power advantage to their benefit.  In the first game, the Lady Rams used a seven-point run to build an 11-3 lead and expanded it to 22-11 before closing out the game.

In the second game, neither team could mount extended runs, but Mobile consistently followed the Lady Badger points with two- and three-point answers.  The third game saw Spring Hill close a 5-9 gap to a 9-9 tie, but Mobile rallied to build a 19-12 bubble and then effectively held off the Lady Badgers for the remainder of the match.

Spring Hill next hosts the University of West Alabama on Thursday at 7 p.m. in their final home contest of the 2007 season.  Before the match, seniors Lindsey Schmidt and Kristen Phillips will be honored during “Senior Night” festivities.
