The Spring Hill College Lady Badger volleyball team takes its undefeated 3-0 record on the road this Wednesday evening to face NCAA Division II opponent the University of West Alabama at the Tigers’ home court in Livingston, Ala.
West Alabama also boasts an undefeated record of 8-0 on the young season, but the Lady Badgers have played intelligent and up-tempo volleyball in their first three matches of 2007 and look forward to the challenge.
Senior setter Lindsey Schmidt of Chicago, Ill., is leading the team in assists with 138, ranking fourth overall in sets per game in the NAIA. Her fellow senior Kristen Phillips of St. Louis ranks 17th in the nation in kills per game with four. Melissa Williams, a sophomore from Fairhope has also started the season hot defensively ranking 31st in the nation with 5.2 digs per game.
Spring Hill returns home on Tuesday, September 11 for a 7 p.m. conference match with cross-town rival the University of Mobile.
